Speed Dating FAQ
How is Ready2mingle Melbourne Speed Dating different?
Ready2mingle provides a fun, safe environment, where all our guests feel comfortable and supported.
Whether you are looking for a great night out, a potential partner or an opportunity to expand your circle of friends our personal approach to Speed Dating offers a fresh alternative to online networking/dating.
Our approach to speed dating is designed to take the stress and anxiety out of networking by making sure our events are held within well-known Melbourne venues along with having both a male and female host, professionally trained to create the right atmosphere for a great night out.
What happens when I arrive at the event?
Upon arrival, our friendly hosts will greet you at the door and show you around. Once you have ordered your complimentary drink and everyone has arrived the night will unfold. You’ll spend approximately two hours meeting up to 12 smart and interesting Melbourne singles. Men will stay seated at a numbered table while Women rotate every 6 to 7 minutes.
Don’t worry, if you really hit it off with someone, you will have a chance to chat longer during intermission or mingle after the event. Before you leave your hosts will collect your match-card and the following day you will receive via e-mail your match results.
When are you holding an event for my age bracket?
If there are no current events within your age bracket make sure to visit our Waiting List Page and sign up, once subscribed to our list we will keep you updated on all upcoming events within your age range.
What should I wear?
Smart casual is best, something you feel comfortable and confident in. Don’t forget that in speed dating first impressions count.
What sort of people go Speed Dating?
Most speed daters will be Melbourne based professionals looking to meet and mingle with other local singles. They’re generally normal single people who just aren’t meeting people through their work or immediate circle of friends.
How many people will I meet?
Depending on the venue, on average our Melbourne speed dating events can expect between 10 – 12 dates per night.
How long does each date go for?
Each date usually lasts between 6 – 7 minutes. In our experience, five minutes is long enough to decide whether you’re prepared to invest a couple of hours on a follow-up date. If you really hit it off with someone, you will have a chance to chat longer during intermission or mingle after the event.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes of course, the more the merrier! Our ticketing system allows for multiple bookings.
What is your Refund Policy?
We do our best to ensure that we have even numbers at our events and it is why people need to purchase tickets as a sign of commitment. We ask you to inform us at least 72 hours prior to the event in order to be eligible to receive your original credit to be used for a future event.
